It's a Wild, Wild Life in Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach
Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach, The Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf Island Coast, encompasses a total of 858 square miles—680 land and 178 water—in the wildlife wonderland of southwest Florida. We work to balance growth and recreation with environmental care and sustainability. As such, there are many parks, preserves, and protected areas, which means you’re going to see a lot of animals, from common Brown Anole lizards and prehistoric-looking birds to rare and endangered creatures on nature walks and boat trips!
We highly recommend a fun outing with Babcock Ranch Eco-Tours to get a sense of the history and nature in our area. And while you're down there, take some time to explore the amazing Babcock/Webb Wildlife Management Area. You can fish, paddle, ride horses (BYOH), hunt, camp, off-road, and more.
