Level Up Pickleball Camps
The PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda will be hosting various official Pickleball Magazine professional and amateur two-day camps. The camps are hosted by top professionals who teach the skills needed to get to the professional level and new strategies being utilized by high-level competitions. Participants will be coming from throughout Florida and the southeast to learn from the best.
Princess Classic Invitational
Over 500 athletes from ages 3-18 years old traveling from all over the state of Florida to compete in this USA Gymnastics and Amateur Athletic Union Gymnastics ( AAU) sanctioned event, to be held at Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center.
Charlotte Harbor Regatta
Since 2010, this regatta has taken advantage of the 270 square miles of water in Charlotte Harbor and the view from Port Charlotte Beach Park to host one of the fastest-growing regattas in the state. Each year the event hosts sailors in approximately 10 different classes and in 2013 hosted the Lasers Midwinter Championships in conjunction with the event.
Punta Gorda Pickleball Open presented by the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP)
The $40k 2021 Punta Gorda Pickleball Open is coming to PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda from January 7-10, 2021. This year’s tournament will feature top professionals and amateurs from across America taking place in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events. Play begins each day at 8 am and is open to the public free of charge.
Snowbird Baseball Classic
The Snowbird Classic is held annually in the Port Charlotte Florida, at the Charlotte Sports Park and Centennial Park Baseball Field. Snowbird baseball is here to meet the coaches and teams' needs by providing outstanding service to enable teams to concentrate on baseball and fun while in our area.
PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda - SpringFling
PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda is a not-for-profit organization that hosts this event as a fundraiser and to showcase its facility and destination. Over 400 athletes travel from throughout the country to participate as a warmup to future tournaments and championships.
United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Softball - Charlotte Shoot Out
The Charlotte Shootout tournament, to be held at Carmalita Park, has teams traveling from as far as Portland, Maine The annual event will continue to host 10U-16U and High School athletes with over 60 teams.
Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Gymnastic State Qualifier
Horizon Gymnastics Club hosts the AAU Gymnastic State Qualifier with over 400 participants from throughout the State of Florida. Clubs traveled as far as North Florida to participate in this qualifying event for Nationals.
US Amateur Basketball – Charlotte Shoot Out
Charlotte County’s new and renovated gymnasiums are home to US Amateur Basketball sanctioned, Charlotte Shoot Out. This event includes 2nd through 12th-grade students with over 100 athletes participating and traveling from throughout Florida.
Florida Half Century Softball
Florida Half Century Softball Association is a not-for-profit organization of teams across the state of Florida. Over their 25 years of existence, they have developed 5 major age divisions, and play year-round with competitive divisions available for ages 50+. Events are held at Carmalita Park in April and October.
US Amateur Basketball- SWFL Showcase II
Southwest Florida Hoops will host a sanctioned US Amateur Basketball Tournament utilizing gymnasiums at Centennial Park, South County Regional Park, and Harold Avenue Park. 44 Teams of 5th through 12th-grade students will have the opportunity to represent their hometown club.
USA BMX Florida State Championship Series
The Charlotte BMX Track will be hosting over 600 riders for our USA BMX Florida State Championship Series. The top riders throughout the state will compete to gain points towards their National Championship. The park is open to all ages and provides family entertainment with great racing, on site vendors, and concessions.
Sugar Bert Boxing National Championship Qualifier
The Sugar Bert Boxing Promotions National Qualifiers and Championships, held at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, attract thousands of amateur boxers, coaches, and families annually. Their vision is to increase exposure to up-and-coming amateur boxers.
US Amateur Basketball- Boys & Girls Florida State Championship
US Amateur Basketball hosts 3rd through 12th-grade, high school division students for the Boys & Girls State Championship. Over 130 qualifying teams with more than 1,200 athletes descend on Port Charlotte for three days. They travel from all over Florida looking to crown their team as the State champion in their age group.
Peace River Riders Bicycle Club – Wheels & Wings
This two-day event attracts riders from all over the state to participate. Over 350 riders will test their skills on Charlotte Harbor Bridge and the the gravel grinder, long course endurance and winding streets of Punta Gorda. Each level of rider will have the ability to choose from a 62,50,31 or 15- mile ride. All participants will end this adventure at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s for wings, great conversation, and comradery.
Prospect Wire Baseball – National Championship
Charlotte Sports Park's five fields and stadium are home to Charlotte County’s first Prospect Wire National Championship. Teams travel from across the country to participate after qualifying throughout the year. Athletes from 13-18 years old will showcase their talent.

Charlotte Sports Park's five fields and stadium are home to Charlotte County’s first Prospect Wire State Championship. Teams travel from across the state of Florida to participate in this invitational tournament. Athletes from 14-18 years old will showcase their talent.
Warriors Soccer Tournament – National Cup Qualifier
Charlotte County Soccer federation will be the host club for this National Cup Qualifier, which will be held at Centennial Park and South County Regional Park. Teams will be traveling from throughout the country to participate in 3V3, 5V5, and 7V7 competitions. Athletes will have a chance to gain exposure by showcasing their talents in front of Florida college coaches.
USSSA Prostyle Baseball – The Duel
Prostyle’s The Duel will have over 700 athletes utilizing Centennial Park and South County Regional Park baseball fields. This annual tournament is one of their premier events crowning Charlotte’s best.
Florida Half Century Softball - 50+ State Tournament
Carmalita Park hosts this fifty-and-over division with over 600 athletes participating. The two-day event has some of the top players from throughout Florida playing.
USA Softball Florida – Fall Bash
Carmalita Park will he home to this year’s USA Softball’s inaugural Fall Bash showcasing top talent for girls’ fast pitch softball. Teams will be traveling in from throughout Florida to compete with the best in the State.
Florida High School Athletic Association – Class 2A Region 4 swim meet
Centennial Park Pool will be home to our first FHSAA Regional swim meet. Schools throughout the west coast region will be participating in all disciplines of swimming and diving. They will host both 25- yard and 50- Meter races.
PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda – Halloween Havoc Championship
This three-day event at PicklePlex® of Punt Gorda will attract top athletes from across Florida to participate in both a professional and amateur division. The finals will be held on their championship court.
Gulf Coast Invitational Golf Tournament
Riverwood Golf Club will be hosting the Inaugural Gulf Coast Amateur Invitational. Entrants for the 54-hole event will include top college players, the best high school players, and amateurs from around the country. Riverwood, rated 5th in Florida and 36th in the USA by Golf Advisor, has hosted many prestigious golf tournaments in its 25-year history including 17 nationally ranked Senior Amateur Invitationals and multiple Florida State Golf Association tournaments.
