Museums

Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach has a rich history that is commemorated in a variety of museums, both traditional (but never stuffy) and outside-the-box. We’re a hidden gem on the Southwest Florida Gulf coast, and our visitors often like to take a bit of time to learn more about the history of the area. 

Our traditional museum include a state-of-the-art facility focused on local and global military history and a comprehensive exhibit on African American history in our county.

Our non-traditional venues include the Punta Gorda History Park, which features four historical homes that serve as “mini” museums and a nautical museum close by on Boca Grande.
