Food trucks are thriving in Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach, and they offer a great way to grab a gourmet bite when you’re out and about.

These chefs continually work to perfect their recipes and their menus and the creativity is off the charts. There are several mobile cafés in the area, serving a variety of cuisine. You'll also find rotating trucks at Charlie Foxtrot Brewing in Port Charlotte and at the Punta Gorda Airport

Follow your favorites on Facebook or just pull over and go on a culinary adventure when you see an interesting looking food truck.

We're happy to showcase a few trucks to get you started. Let us know which are your favorites with #BestSideOutside!

>Big Geroy's BBQ Food Truck

Meet “Dr. Ribology”! Big Geroy’s presents amazing barbecue, sides, and sweet tea, and is also available for catering. Serves across the county, from Englewood to Punta Gorda, and they're good about posting where they'll be and when.

>Cesar's Tacos

Cesar’s Tacos offers seriously authentic and justifiably popular Mexican street tacos and more. Your first perfectly seasoned bite will make you a life-long fan! Typically serves next to Rita's Italian Ice in Port Charlotte.

>Nando's Taqueria

Nando's Taqueria serves bona fide burritos, tacos, tamales, and more! They're multiple winners of the "Best of Englewood" award. Because they're always in the same spot, under shade, you get a food truck experience with restaurant perks.

>Danny's Food Truck

Truly terrific tacos: Danny's Food Truck serves authentic Mexican food people can’t stop raving about (especially the tacos, but seriously try the rice and beans as well. Trust). Trades off with Cesar's at Rita's Italian Ice.

>Top Notch Smokehouse

Top Notch Smokehouse serves mouth-watering, fall-apart barbeque and seriously savory sides every weekend at Lowes in Port Charlotte. Their fans are passionate, numerous, and always increasing!

>Outside the Lunchbox

Step into a tie dye world at Outside the Lunchbox and grab some "Grateful Grub." They pride themselves on culinary creativity, and you may even be able to buy a cool tie dye t-shirt.

>Casa de Uraguay

Casa de Uraguay is both a food truck and a bakery which makes most everything from scratch. Find them throughout Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda for truly international flavor experience that's also high on the comfort food meter.

>Freshly Prepped

Your destination for the best smashburger around! Pro-tip: Add candied jalapeños to the Bacon & Pimento smashburger (thank us later). Turn any signature smashburger into a burger bowl for a lighter option. The OG Bowl is a crowd fave!

>El Guero Tacos

El Guero is not just a food truck that serves in Port Charlotte (next to Rita's Italian Ice), they're also a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Punta Gorda! No matter which location you go to, you'll enjoy truly authentic Mexican food.

>Sunny Side Up Food Truck

Hot, fresh, and oversized breakfast sandwiches on demand that will fill you up for hours, every day from 7 am til noon. Hot dogs and burgers, Thursdays and Fridays, 7 am until 2 pm. Don't forget to try "The World's Worst Chili Dog!"
