Stretching along the scenic shoreline of the Peace River, Punta Gorda’s Harborwalk offers one of the most relaxing and picturesque ways to experience Southwest Florida. Whether you’re out for a morning walk, a bike ride, or a sunset stroll, this multi-use pathway delivers waterfront views and refreshing stops at every turn.
A Walk Worth Taking
Harborwalk is part of the Punta Gorda Pathways system, designed for pedestrians, cyclists, and well-behaved four-legged companions. The full route spans approximately three miles one way, connecting Laishley Park (with an additional access point just east at Trabue Park) to Fishermen’s Village in the west.
What You’ll See Along the Way
There’s plenty to see and enjoy along Harborwalk.
Start at the Vietnam Wall of Southwest Florida, a half-scale replica of the original in Washington, D.C. Nearby, the Spirit of Punta Gorda sculpture honors the community’s resilience following Hurricane Charley.
From there, head toward the marina and take a break at Laishley Crab House or enjoy a cool treat at Harbor Scoops while watching the boats come and go.
Continuing west, pass beneath the US 41 bridge to TT’s Tiki Bar, a popular waterfront stop for a drink or casual bite. Beneath the Gilchrist Bridge, look for one of the murals created by the Punta Gorda Historic Mural Society.
Next, the path opens into Gilchrist Park, where you can relax along the water, watch pickleball games, or admire the historic homes nearby.
The trail continues through smaller green spaces before arriving at Fishermen’s Village, known for its shops, dining, and frequent live music.
On your return, consider stopping at the Visual Arts Center to browse galleries and gifts, or treat yourself at Punta Gorda Chocolate & Wine or Coffee & Tea. If time allows, the Military Heritage Museum offers an in-depth look at history through its extensive collection.

Take Your Time
Harborwalk is as much about the journey as the destination. Take a moment to relax on a bench and enjoy the views. Boaters and anglers are a common sight, and it’s not unusual to spot dolphins in the harbor or seabirds gliding overhead.
Plan Your Visit
Accessible year-round, Harborwalk is especially popular during the cooler morning and evening hours. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes.
As with any coastal pathway, conditions can change, so check for temporary closures or detours before heading out.
From peaceful nature moments to vibrant community spaces, Harborwalk captures the essence of Punta Gorda’s laid-back coastal charm. It’s an experience visitors return to again and again.
