Every fall, Englewood Beach Waterfest brings high-speed offshore racing and high energy to the area. In 2026, the event runs October 8–11, giving travelers another reason to plan a fall escape to Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach.
Don't forget to explore local flavor—like the beachy restaurants and bars within walking distance of the sand and several other Waterfest-ready spots nearby.
Here’s what to know as you start planning to attend this year’s event:
Race Weekend at a Glance
The centerpiece of Waterfest is the APBA Championship Offshore Powerboat Races, where top teams compete right off shore, meaning there are no bad views from Englewood Beach.
There were over 40 boats last year, racing across multiple classes, and this year looks to be as packed or even more! This is a family-friendly, high-adrenaline experience whether you’re on the sand or nearby viewing areas.
Family Conservation Center: Fun Beyond the Races
Waterfest is more than a spectator event. Between races, visitors can explore marine education exhibits, conservation-focused programming, and interactive activities for kids and adults alike. These elements reflect Englewood’s strong connection to its waterways and make Waterfest a don't-miss experience for visitors of all ages.
Food, Drinks, and Walkable Beach Spots
One of the best parts of Waterfest weekend is how easy it is to move between the event and nearby beach restaurants and bars. Food vendors and local spots within walking distance keep the vibe relaxed, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between races or settling in for a sunset dinner. There's also usually a special Waterfest signature cocktail, available for purchase (21+ with valid ID).
Tickets
Waterfest tickets are usually available weeks ahead of the kick-off party, and typically includes bus transportation and parking.
You can always purchase tickets online and usually even at the Block Party or gate. After online purchase, you’ll receive a confirmation email with links to printable or smartphone QR code tickets—bring these to check-in for entry. Note: tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Please note: outside coolers, alcohol, and pets are prohibited.
Getting to the Races
Parking and bus transportation are included with all Waterfest tickets, making it easy for visitors to access the event grounds without navigating beach traffic.
