PUNTA GORDA/ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. — (June 23, 2026) — The Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau today announced that it has officially changed its name to Visit Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach, reflecting the continued evolution of destination marketing organizations and aligning the brand with industry best practices.
The new name better represents the organization's role in promoting Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach as a premier leisure, meetings, sports, and group travel destination while supporting the local tourism economy.
"Destination marketing organizations across the country have increasingly adopted action-oriented brands such as Visit, Discover, and Experience," said Sean Doherty, Tourism Director for Visit Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach. "The word 'Visit' serves as an invitation and a call to action, encouraging travelers to experience everything that makes Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach unique while reinforcing our commitment to growing tourism and supporting our local partners."
The rebranding includes a refreshed logo featuring "Visit" as the central element of the organization's visual identity. While the name and logo have changed, the organization's mission remains the same: to market and promote the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach destination, support local tourism businesses, and strengthen the economic impact of visitor spending throughout Charlotte County.
The name change reflects the tourism industry's transition away from traditional terms such as "Visitor & Convention Bureau" in favor of branding that more clearly communicates an organization's purpose as a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO).
