PUNTA GORDA/ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. – August 20, 2025 – Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach is proud to sponsor and be the host destination for the “13th Annual Southwest Florida Martial Arts Open”.  This year it will be held at the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center in Punta Gorda, Florida on Saturday, September 6, 2025.  There will be several competition categories students can register for a fee, but this year we are excited to include a special needs category to provide an opportunity for students from the Dream Foundation to compete, free of charge. The Taekwondo school master has a child with Down Syndrome and started the Dream Foundation to teach Taekwondo to others with Down Syndrome. This year they will bring 4-6 students with Down Syndrome to compete at this tournament. 

In addition to the Dream Foundation category, “Superfoot”, Bill Wallace will be in attendance.  Wallace was the undefeated middle weight kick boxing champion of the world and has also been in several movies in the 80’s including the most notably “A Force of One” starring Chuck Norris.
