ZimSculpt
The world-renowned traveling sculpture exhibit, Zimsculpt, is returning to the Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens!
Just one botanical garden per year receives with the exhibition of masterful stone sculptures by talented Zimbabwean artists, so it's a special honor to get a return engagement.
More than 100 sculptures will be on display across the 30-acre sanctuary and gardens, and all will be available for purchase. Various types of serpentine and semi-precious stone are used, often weighing tons, and the sculptures can reach heights of seven feet tall. The show also features a Marketplace with hundreds of unique carvings, traditional baskets, and jewelry.
Each sculpture in the show is hand-selected from a collective of more than 300 hundred Zimbabwean sculptors, a group including world-renowned artists and young apprentices. All artists are fairly compensated for their talent and work.
Sculptures range from impressionistic to realistic, and are known for their striking style that is unique to the Shona tribe of southern Africa.

A Rare Opportunity
Two of the artists also travel with the exhibition and demonstrate their artistry on select days throughout the run.
This is a rare chance to see the magic up close and personal, ask questions, and be amazed!
According to Newsweek, "Shona sculpture is perhaps the most important new art form to emerge from Africa in this century."
