Zimsculpt Mother and Child sculptureJust one botanical garden per year receives with the exhibition of masterful stone sculptures by talented Zimbabwean artists, so it's a special honor to get a return engagement.

More than 100 sculptures were on display across the 30-acres of the Gardens, with over 2,000 more pieces of hand-crafted art on hand in the Marketplace—and taking the place of sold sculptures, as all of the art was available for purchase. The Marketplace also showcased traditional baskets, clothing, and jewelry.

Various types of serpentine and semi-precious stone are used in these sculptures, which often weigh tons. Sculptures can reach heights of seven feet tall.

Each sculpture in the show was hand-selected from a collective of more than 300 hundred Zimbabwean sculptors, a group including world-renowned artists and young apprentices. All artists are fairly compensated for their talent and work.

Zimsculpt sculptures range from impressionistic to realistic, and are known for their striking style that is unique to the Shona tribe of southern Africa.

We hope you were able to enjoy the show and take home a treasure or five!
