Zika Virus Information

During 2016, there were several cases of Zika in the Miami-Dade area in an extremely small geographic area. The Florida Department of Health issues Zikas update; access it at FloridaHealth.gov 

The Department confirms that there are no locally-acquired cases of Zika virus transmission in Charlotte County, Florida. This includes Punta Gorda, Englewood-Cape Haze, Port Charlotte, Placida,  Boca Grande, Don Pedro Island, El Jobean, Little Gasparilla Island, Manasota Key and Palm Island.
