Father's Day is always observed the third Sunday in June. In 2026, it falls on Sunday, June 21.

Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach is a great place to celebrate Father's Day. Whether you're planning a memorable gift, a special dinner, a fun outing, or all three (honestly, most dads would vote for all three), you'll find plenty of ways to make the day memorable around here.

For gifts that keep delivering—and provide an excuse for another trip—consider tickets to the Englewood Beach Waterfest in October or the Florida International Air Show in November. Both are high energy events featuring speeding boats and daredevil air stunts, and neither can be beat when dad wants an adrenaline rush.

Whatever your dad loves to do, the ideas below are a solid fit for just about any dad:

No dad can resist a hearty breakfast or brunch. Whether you ease into the morning or get an early start before a full day of activities, it's a great way to kick things off.

Dinner is where things really open up. Our restaurant scene is driven by passionate, talented, independent restaurateurs, and the variety might just make dad's head spin (in the best way). From a perfectly cooked steak to fresh Gulf seafood to an elaborate vegan spread, we've got just about every cuisine type covered.

A great place to start exploring is the Flavor Coast, which spotlights local restaurants and their chefs and founders, and even offers foodie trail itineraries to help you plan the perfect outing. Bonus points if you snag a table on the water.

You'll find trips of all kinds here, from deep sea to back bay, freshwater to salt, and even fly fishing. Make the catch even more memorable by trying one of our local Cook Your Catch spots.

If dad would rather be out on the water without a line in it, there are plenty of places to rent your own vessel and explore our waterways at your own pace. Prefer to leave the navigation to someone else? A nature or sunset cruise is a pretty great way to spend an afternoon.

Is dad a Pickleball fan or golfer? He's in luck. The area has plenty of public courts, including the remarkable PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda. There are also over 15 gorgeous golf courses and two indoor golf simulator spots—Go4Golf and The Back Nine Golf—for when the weather has other plans.

And if dad is a reptile enthusiast, IguanaLand is an experience unlike any other. It's the largest reptile zoo in the world, right here in our backyard.

Father's Day Relaxation

Of course, nothing beats a beach day for pure relaxation. Dads of all kinds will enjoy the soft sand, warm water, and the added bonus of several great restaurants just steps away.

For something a little more leisurely, a slow wander through downtown Punta Gorda is always a good idea. Great bars, great bites, and no agenda required. That said, if you want one, we've got you covered.Family dining outside at Village Brewhouse at Fishermen's Village

Fishermen's Village is another easy win. Browse the shops, hop on a harbor boat tour with King Fisher Fleet, then settle in for a waterfront meal and, very likely, some live music to cap off the afternoon.

However you choose to spend the day, Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach makes it easy to celebrate dad in style. We hope to see you here.
