For many these days, enrichment activities like online education and engagement are more important than ever.
While you can learn about practically anything from any number of sources, few topics are more intriguing than nature, which just happens to be the very heart of Florida. That's one reason we're so excited about Florida Sea Grant Presents Bite-Sized Science webinar series!
Airing from April 20 until May 29, 2020, at 4:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday (no webinar on Memorial Day, May 25), each free webinar will consist of a 30-minute presentation by University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Florida Sea Grant agents, but presenters will stay longer to answer questions as needed.
Each day of the week is structured to loosely tie in with one of the Florida Sea Grant focus areas
- Mondays: Healthy Coastal habitats (Habitats and Species)
- Tuesdays: Fish & Fisheries
- Wednesdays: Threats to Coastal habitats/species
- Thursdays: Sustainability (including climate change)
- Fridays: Aquaculture and seafood
Please note: you will need to register for each webinar separately and registration is free. Topics covered will include everything from manatees, sharks, Goliath grouper and sea turtles to Aquaponics, sustainable sea food, marine life rescue, and so much more. There's something for nearly every interest; feel free to watch them all!
To register, click on the webinar title and fill out a short form. Presentations will be recorded, and registrants will be sent a link to view the recordings, so no worries if you cannot watch or listen at the scheduled time. You can participate via PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android device, or regular telephone.
What a great way to get to know Florida, whether you live here or are planning to visit us again when possible!
