Capt Van Hubbard has been an active licensed fishing guide since the seventies. He started out in 1976 guiding Tampa Bay and offshore Gulf waters. He moved to Boca Grande in 1981 for tarpon and back country fishing. He hosted the TV Series “Let’s Go Fishin’ with Capt. Van” and numerous guest appearances on other shows. Capt. Van started writing about fishing for the Boca Beacon in 1988 and many other publications since. He currently writes for the WaterLine and Woods ’n Waters.  He has won many awards and stayed active in fishery management throughout his career. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience especially with children. His forecasts are from a lifetime of experience on our waters.
