PUNTA GORDA/ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. - (May 17, 2019) –  Hundreds of amateur boxers, their families, coaches, and fans will convene in Charlotte County June 7 – 9, 2019, during the Sugar Bert Boxing Title Belt National Qualifier. This USA Boxing Association Sanctioned event is an Olympic-style, double elimination tournament taking place at the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center in Punta Gorda (75 Taylor Street). Winners of each weight class division will receive a title belt and advance to the National Championship on November 22 - 25, 2019, in Kissimmee, Fla. at Park Inn by Radisson Resort & Conference Center Orlando Near Disney World.

Male and female boxers of all ages, weight classes, and from across the country and globe have registered to participate. In addition to the United States, other registered competitors hail from the Bahamas, Barbados, Finland and Saint Martin. Special guests committed to attend include Damon Gonzales, CEO of National Boxing Association (NBA); Chico Rivas of Warriors Boxing Promotions; Nelson Lopez Jr., of Raynelo Boxing Management; Douglas Ward of Title Boxing; Frank Rabinovitch, the CEO of Impact Mouthguards; and Gadwin Rosa, NBA Intercontinental Super Featherweight Champion.

Through our partnership with Sugar Bert Boxing we hope to continue this legacy for years to come.”

The three-day event is produced by Sugar Bert Boxing Promotions and sponsored by USA Boxing, International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), Title Boxing, National Boxing Association (NBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), Impact Mouthguard and Raynelo Management. 

The tournament will feature fights in the categories of Bantam, Intermediate, Junior, Senior, Women, Open Men, Novice, and Master, and will take place in three rings over June 8 & 9. 

The Sugar Bert Boxing National Qualifier is open to the public. Doors open at Noon each day. VIP admission is $25 per day and seating is in the first three rows of each ring. General admission is $15 and children 4-8 are $10 each day. Seats are on a space available basis. Corporate sponsorship tables are available for $1,000 and are located in the most prime viewing area in the venue where they will have the best seats and access to some of the behind-the-scenes action. This package includes 10 VIP, two-day guest passes, and custom title belt. A press conference is scheduled for Friday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center. A special guest will join Bert Wells, AKA Sugar Bert. The press conference is free and open to the media and public.
