Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach, Fla (Feb. 4, 2022) – One of the country’s largest collegiate spring baseball tournaments returns to Charlotte County Feb. 18 – Mar. 19, 2022, when the Snowbird Baseball Classic comes back to Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach. In its 14-year running, the tournament welcomes all NCAA Baseball Division 1 & Division III schools.
Schools from across the country will compete during the five-week event. Top teams include Ohio State, University of Pittsburgh, Indiana State, Brigham Young University, and St. John’s University, to name a few. A complete list of teams and the full schedule is available at
“Fans, alumni, residents, and anyone else who appreciates baseball is encouraged to come out and support their favorite team. With the support of the community and the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, we have grown the Snowbird Baseball Classic to be one of the top tournaments in the country. This is an opportunity to see some of tomorrow’s major league stars,” said Steve Partington, president of Snowbird Baseball LLC.
“Both the Snowbird Baseball Classic and the Tampa Bay Rays Spring training games provide you the opportunity to get up close and personal with emerging and established high-level athletes,” stated Sean Walter, Business Development Director of Sports for the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau. “This is a great opportunity for both our residents and visitors to enjoy baseball in beautiful Southwest Florida.”
Tickets are $10.00 at the gate and residents are free every Tuesday with an ID or utility bill showing a local address. Wednesday is Military Day, and all military and veterans get in free with their current ID. Parking is free.
