Seven distinguished women from Punta Gorda’s past now adorn the 30th mural created by the Punta Gorda Historic Mural Society. Titled “Ladies Remembered”, this mural presents women who represent our history, ranging from the early years to more recent times, and whose contributions cross a wide range of areas – education, business, history, healthcare, government, and social causes. Each made a lasting impression on our community.
Artist Skip Dryda is finishing up the details on this five hundred and sixty square foot mural; the first of the historic murals dedicated solely to women. The Mural Society is making preparations to celebrate the completion of this three-year project.
All are welcome to join the Mural Society at the mural dedication scheduled for Friday, April 13, 5:00 pm at Bayside Eye Center located at 314 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda. Drinks, light appetizers and desserts will be served following the ribbon cutting. For more information contact the Mural Society at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Mural Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. More information can be found and donations can be made at www.puntagordamurals.org.
