Free Columbus Day Nature Walk: Birds of Wildflower Preserve
Lemon Bay Conservancy’s free seasonal nature walks get underway this coming Monday, October 9, with an early morning birding walk at Wildflower Preserve. Join experienced birder Susy d’Hont to observe some of the many bird species that frequent Wildflower Preserve. Fall migration is underway and you may see some of the “snow birds” that arrive in our area for winter season. Note that the walk begins at 8 am! End time will be approximately 10 am.
Wildflower Preserve is at 3120 Gasparilla Pines Blvd., Englewood, FL 34224. The preserve is located just east of Placida Rd, Route 775, south of Englewood. Dress for a walk in the woods. Binoculars, sun screen, and bug spray are suggested.
New Office Location and Furnishing Needs
We’ve moved the Lemon Bay Conservancy office to a new location on South McCall Road, a couple of blocks south of Dearborn St. in the Old Englewood Area. Our new address is: 150 S McCall Rd, Suite 2, Englewood, FL 34223.
We are looking for a few furniture items to use in the new space, including a rectangular conference table (around 7’ long) and chairs, a small (dorm-size) refrigerator, and a small floor-standing cabinet for the bathroom. If you may be able to donate any of these items, please give us a call at 941-830-8922.
