Dozens of local tourism businesses participated in an educational workshop to learn how to better leverage Google My Business last month.

The workshop was arranged by the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau and presented by Miles Partnership. It is a marketing cooperative advertising program the VCB is participating in conjunction with Miles Partnership and VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official tourism marketing agency.

Participants learned best practices and tips for making their organization stand out online.

Soon, the VCB will be reaching out assisting those organizations who need to claim and build their Google business listing.

Google is the web’s largest search engine and oftentimes, people find an organization through Google maps. Ensuring area organizations have complete listings should assist in their marketing efforts not only on maps, but across nearly all of Google’s entire products that expose businesses to the public.
