CHARLOTTE HARBOR & THE GULF ISLANDS, Fla. (July 01, 2015) – The Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau is proud to announce Chip Futch, Director of Marketing, has been appointed to Visit Florida’s Advertising and Internet Committee for a one-year term beginning July 1. Visit Florida is the state’s official tourism marketing corporation.
Mr. Futch joined the Charlotte Harbor VCB in 2013. Visit Florida’s Advertising and Internet Committee provides the primary source of industry input, counsel and feedback on strategic matters related to Visit Florida’s domestic and international cooperative and dedicated efforts in direct marketing and advertising, including digital and internet marketing.
Visit Florida’s Board of Directors established the Marketing Council Steering Committee to enhance industry involvement. It’s made up of eight discipline-based committees – Advertising and Internet; Communications; Cultural, Heritage, Rural and Nature; Industry Relations; International; Meetings & Travel Trade; Promotions; and Visitor Services. Committee members are volunteers and represent Visit Florida board members and tourism industry partners who have an expertise or interest in the committee disciplines.
Each year, the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau conducts marketing, sales and promotional campaigns to increase awareness of and visitation to Charlotte County. In addition to generating economic contributions, the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau is also focused on developing soft adventure or eco-tourism, a low-impact industry enabling the county to preserve the invaluable natural resources that contribute to its ecological health, distinguish the area and draw visitors.
