PUNTA GORDA / ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2016) – Tourism officials representing the Charlotte Harbor Visitor and Convention Bureau (CHVCB) unveiled the county’s new tourism marketing brand which has been approved by the Charlotte County Tourist Development Council and is designed to position Charlotte County as a top Florida destination for experiencing the outdoors.
The new branding includes key components that emphasize the outdoor amenities that draw visitors to the county. These include:
• A new logo
• A marketing message positioning Charlotte County as “The one Florida destination that provides all the best of Florida’s coveted outdoor activities all in one place”
• The tagline “Our Best Side, is Outside”
• The destination name “Punta Gorda \ Englewood Beach,” with the additional geographic indicator: “The Charlotte Harbor Gulf Island Coast,” continuing the destination’s historic name while incorporating the mention of a unique visitor asset – islands.
“In order to compete in one of the hottest tourism markets in the world, it is important to have a unique and clear tourism brand to help Charlotte County stand out from the competition in the eyes of potential visitors,” said CHVCB tourism director Lorah Steiner. “Most important though is making sure that our brand is a direct reflection of our county at its heart and one that resonates with our target visitor.”
An extensive research process played an integral part in, and made possible the creation of the brand developed over a 9-month period and as a result of careful market study and objective research conducted by the county’s tourism marketing firm Aqua Marketing & Communications.
“Tourism in Charlotte County is one of the county’s strongest economic drivers, making great branding an imperative,” said Aqua Marketing & Communications President Dave DiMaggio. “The new brand reflects the County in a most positive light, and aligns perfectly with how potential visitors research, discover and experience the area. We look forward to helping the VCB roll it out and aiding in their efforts to attract more visitors than ever before.”
“We are thrilled with the results and look forward to rolling out all components and seeing yet another year of record-breaking visitation,” added Steiner.
The CHVCB will now apply the approved branding to a new integrated marketing campaign through the application of consistent brand messaging and implementation of well-coordinated public relations, direct marketing, advertising, and social media promotional tactics designed to better promote visitation to the destination.
