PUNTA GORDA/ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. - (June 13, 2019) – Southeast Tourism Society has named Englewood Beach WaterFest and the Florida International Air Show as two of the STS Top 20 Events in the Southeast for November 2019.
This year’s Florida International Air Show is Nov. 1 – 3 at the Punta Gorda Airport and Englewood Beach WaterFest is Nov. 23 – 24 in Englewood and Manasota Key. The STS Top 20 Festival and Event Awards have highlighted programs around the Southeast since 1985.
Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites: Southeast Tourism Society and Travel Media Press Room.
“We are very pleased to be recognized as a premier event on the West Coast of Florida and included as a top 20 event in the Southeastern United States. This award is a testament to our Board of Directors and hundreds of volunteers who work tirelessly all year to bring together Englewood Beach Waterfest.” Steve Schroeder, past president of Englewood Beach Waterfest.
Englewood Beach Waterfest is a celebration of everything water. Included in the celebration is a block party with music, food, and display of race boats; Waterfest Village and the Family Conservation Center with interactive exhibits showcasing the conservation of Southwest Florida's marine life, coastal waterways, and beaches; food, entertainment, and vendors; and the Offshore Powerboat Association's World Championship Races. Englewood Beach Waterfest is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization. Events take place in Englewood and Manasota Key.

“We are proud the Florida International Air Show has been recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as Top 20 Event. With the USAF Thunderbirds, the 2019 air show will be bigger and better marking the 38th anniversary of the all-volunteer group,” said Dana Carr, president of the Florida International Air Show.
The 38th Annual Florida International Air Show will feature the USAF Thunderbirds. The air show focuses on delivering wholesome family entertainment, education for all attendees about aviation and space, and a forum for military and civilian flight demonstrations. FIAS is a Florida “not for profit” corporation and staffed entirely by volunteers. The air show takes place at the Punta Gorda Airport.
Tickets for the November 1-3 Florida International Air Show are available now at www.floridaairshow.com.
